Since we poured our first beer in 1998, we’ve been working to build a community of creative beer-lovers. Part of that stems from our commitment to our employees—The Sebago Brewing Company Crew. We’d love to introduce you to a few members of the crew so you can get to know the team that brews and serves our delicious Sebago beers.
Meet The Crew: Peter Dahlen, Head Brewer
Peter Dahlen has been with Sebago Brewing for nine years, starting as an assistant brewer. He is now Head Brewer at Sebago, adding his expertise to the success of many of our seasonal and limited edition beers and continuing to drive both innovation and quality, especially as we continue to grow. We asked Peter to answer a few questions about his role at Sebago Brewing and here’s what he had to share.
What is your favorite part of your job, or favorite memory you have of working here?
We used to have hops grown for us in Monroe, ME for Local Harvest. One year I met up with the growers at the old downtown location and filled my Volvo 850 wagon with a couple hundred pounds of fresh hops for the brew. The twenty-minute drive out to the brewery wasn’t long enough, so I just sat in the car for a while longer to soak up as much of the experience as I could.
What does “Brewed For Times Like These” mean to you?
Time is the direction you are moving when standing still, beer likewise. What?
What is your favorite Sebago beer?
It’s usually the one I’m having at the end of the day with the crew that made it. It’s corny, but true.
Stay tuned, we’ll be sharing more stories from other members of the Sebago Brewing Crew soon! Think that Sebago Brewing Company might be the right fit for you? Check out current openings and fill out a job application here.
