Barleywine 2025

It’s the most wonderful time of the year, when we share what we’ve been working on in the Sebago brewery cask room.

Our brewers created Barleywine 2025 by aging it for ten months using a blend of emptied Heaven Hills and Widow Jane bourbon barrels. They sampled each barrel throughout the year to test the quality of the developing beer. Their (and your) patience pays off as the liquid ages and takes on the unique characteristics of each barrel. Fun fact: even when all the barrels come from one bourbon producer, they still present different characteristics from cask to cask.

Head brewer Rusty Packer calls this year’s batch of Barleywine “highly drinkable!” Why? Rusty cites “a nice balance of flavors and well-integrated booziness.”

This year Barleywine’s ABV comes in at 10.2. (The full-bodied flavor goes to 11.) Barrel-aged ale pairs well with hearty food and rich desserts — and blankets and bonfires.

Barleywine 2025 is available at all Sebago Brewing locations, on draft in snifters and in single 12-ounce cans. Plus, once again we’re offering Barleywine in an extra special package: the vertical Brewers’ Reserve 4-pack, one can for each year: ’22, ’23, ’24, and ’25.
