7 Facts About Slick Nick

1. Slick Nick was first brewed in 1998 and quickly became a fan favorite.

2. The recipe hasn’t changed much since the start. It’s still got a strong malt backbone, with traditional German and English hops — and a robust ABV!

3. Slick Nick is brewed with about one ton of malts from Maine Malt House in Mapleton, Maine.

4. Our brewers use Chico and Sierra Nevada yeasts and the esters give it a fruitiness without adding fruit or spice.

5. There have been three versions of the Slick Nick label over the years.

6. In 2020, Slick Nick took a heavy metal turn when we started packaging Slick Nick in 16-ounce cans, and “Long Winter Ale” became Wicked Winter Ale.

7. There are Sebago Brewing regulars who come in for lunch on release day to get the first-tapped pints of Slick Nick. (Some folks even take the day off!)

Slick Nick will be available starting Friday, October 31st at all Sebago Brewing locations and select stores. Get yours on draft, in 4-packs, or fill a growler!
